Common questions
How is unit price calculated?
Unit price is the total price divided by the quantity. A $6 bag of 12 items has a unit price of $0.50 per item. The calculator does this for both products so you can compare directly.
Do both products need the same unit?
Yes. Compare grams with grams or items with items. As long as the quantities are in the same unit, the per-unit prices are comparable and the cheaper option is meaningful.
What does the result tell me?
It shows the unit price of each product, names the cheaper one, and reports how much less it costs per unit — so you can see the size of the saving, not just the winner.
What if both products have the same unit price?
The calculator tells you they cost the same per unit, so the choice comes down to other factors like how much you actually need.
